Summary
Laugh out loud with Captain Underpants, the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Dav Pilkey, the creator of Dog Man!George and Harold thought they were beyond boogers. Their new pet, Sulu the Bionic Hamster, had defeated the Bionic Booger Boy, and through the wonders of science, Melvin Sneedly had been brought back to normal (well, almost normal). It looked like their last adventure was actually going to have a happy ending... except for one thing (well, three things) -- the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers. Now George, Harold, and their buddies are on the run -- with the Robo-Boogers in hot, gooey pursuit! Will the boys get away from these gross globs, or will Sulu have to save the day again?
Author Notes
Dav Pilkey was born on March 4th, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio. His father was a steel salesman, and his mother was the organist at a local church.
In 1984, Pilkey attended Kent State University as an art major. One of Pilkey's freshman English professors complimented him on his creative writing skills, and encouraged him to write books, which launched him into his career. He found out about a contest for students who write and illustrate their own books, with the winners earning the prize of publication. Pilkey began creating his first book, "World War Won," and entered it in The National Written and Illustrated By...Awards Contest for Students. Pilkey won the contest and flew to Kansas City, Missouri to meet the editors and publishers at Landmark Editions, Inc.
Soon after the publication of World War Won, Dav moved back to Kent, Ohio where he had gone to college. In 1997, Pilkey won the Caldecott Honor for his book "The Paperboy" but is perhaps better known for his "Captain Underpants" series, which he had created while still in elementary school. His title Super Diaper Baby 2: The Invasion of the Potty Snatchers made Publisher's Weekly best seller list for 2011. His title's, The Adventures of Captain Underpants and Dog Man Unleashed, made The New York Times Best Seller List.

School Library Journal Review
Gr 3-6-This seventh title in the series is witty, fun, and full of adventure. George and Harold think everything is fine as the Robo-Boogers are jettisoned into space, but alas, a complication has occurred. Mr. Krupp, the principal, and Melvin have had their brains switched by the Combine-O-Tron, and they become known as Kruppy the Kid and Mr. Melvin. The Robo-Boogers miraculously return on a space shuttle as Miss Singerbrains, the school librarian, gets into the action by taking the Purple Potty from the basement of the library and Mr. Melvin turns it into a magical time machine (a whole other story). As Miss Singerbrains and the boys fly with their pet pterosaurs, the youngsters regain control of the Combine-O-Tron and the Forgetchamacallit 2000 and they ultimately restore Mr. Krupp and Melvin to their rightful selves. However, the switch does not restore Captain Underpants's powers. Then, just in the nick of time, George and Harold come through. The Purple Potty time machine, which is not supposed to be used two days in a row, awaits the boys, but they, of course, use it again, so the end of this story is just the beginning of the next adventure of Captain Underpants. With fast-paced action and humorous, kid-friendly artwork, this story is creative, imaginative, and truly boisterous.-JoAnn Jonas, Chula Vista Public Library, San Diego, CA (c) Copyright 2010. Horn Book Review
A mishap involving a new-fangled machine and an ill-timed sneeze turn nerdy Melvin Sneedly into the gunky, slimy Bionic Booger Boy. In the second volume, Melvin and Mr. Krupp (a.k.a. Captain Underpants) find themselves trapped in each otherÆs bodies. Those who enjoy gross-out humor (i.e., most boys) will probably be laughing too hard to notice the deficiencies in the rather shapeless plots.
