Booklist Review
Does an early reader want to know more about the world? Ziefert responds affirmatively with these books in the Think About series, which address common childhood concerns. Drawing on children's fondness for animals, Ziefert places animals in the role of the child. As young readers see the silliness of the situation (for example, a wolf getting his teeth cleaned), they begin to learn what to expect. The engaging second-person narration and Bolam's colorful, kid-friendly illustrations then transition to children facing these same milestones. Does a Seal Smile? explains the differences between animal and human greetings. It also shows greetings across cultures and photographs of playful animal salutations. Terrific animal facts are an added bonus. Informative and fun for the preschooler set.--Leeper, Angela Copyright 2014 Booklist
