Summary
This volume explores the facts about eating disorders: who suffers from them, what does and doesn't contribute to their development, and the path to recovery. Chapters look at the effects of media on body image; the role of chemical and genetic factors; and the dangerous cycle of eating and obsessive exercise. Discussions on the spiritual component and the importance of family are included, as well as the personal account of one person's struggle with an eating disorder.

Horn Book Review
These volumes attempt to delve into problems relevant to teens' lives by offering different perspectives on the issues. Each book presents excerpts from previously published periodicals and websites of varying repute (and with various degrees of hysteria). They're all supported by facts and figures that supposedly prove the authors' arguments, but it's difficult to judge validity without context or background information. Reading list, websites. Ind.
